FAQ’s on Contest Tanning

How do I prepare my skin for tanning?

About 6-8 weeks out from your competition start exfoliating your skin once a week with an exfoliating mitt and scrub. About a month out exfoliate twice weekly up until a day or two before tanning begins. Always follow up with a good moisturizer such as Vitamin E cream or cocoa butter.

How many coats of Contest Colour do I need?

As a general rule a minimum base of 3-4 coats is necessary to obtain depth of colour but the fairer your skin tone,the more coats you may need. I am happy to advise you on your particular skin requirements.

How do I apply Contest Colour?

Using a sea sponge,apply over small areas of the body blending as you go. I find it easier to start with the larger body areas first and blend into the smaller ones,starting at the neck and moving down to the feet.

How do I remove Contest Colour?

In the shower,with an exfoliating mitt and scrub. Remember to moisturize your skin after each exfoliation to prevent dryness.

Can I use Body Shimmer by itself?

You can, but it will not give optimal depth of colour or muscle detail that using both products together will. I highly recommend using Contest Colour as a base and Body Shimmer as a top coat for a professional looking tan.

How do I apply Body Shimmer?

Starting with a warm body, apply much like a moisturizer, smoothing into the skin evenly. It gives a translucent appearance and emphasizes muscle detail more than comparable products on the market today.

How do I remove Body Shimmer?

With soap and water in the shower-no scrubbing needed!
